Red Coral does not come from the protected reefs in the Southern Ocean. It’s a readily available organic material that’s permissible to gather. Corals are the product of tiny beings which settled in the depths of the seas around Japan, Taiwan and Malaysia. In its natural state coral is matt, often with tiny cracks and holes, but once processed and polished it reveals attractive patterns and a soft lustre finish, perfect for jewellery.
